Zurich Country Fair brings fun to town, July 27-29

The Zurich Agricultural Society is pulling out all the stops to make this year’s Zurich Country Fair one to remember.

Held at the Zurich Agriplex  15 East St., the fair runs July 27-29 and features a little something for everyone.

The fun starts Friday, July 27 with both the Ambassador and Prince and Princess programs.

The Prince and Princess competition will see children aged 3-6 years old compete for the crown by having some one-on-one time with judges and smiling for the crowd.

Contestants age 17 to 22 will take part in the ambassador competition at the Zurich Community Centre starting at 7 p.m. The winner will represent Zurich in the provincial Ambassador program and attend many events on behalf of the agricultural society.

For those who like Classic Championship Wrestling, it will return to the fair Sunday, July 29 at 3 p.m.

Fairs are among the longest-running events in most Huron County communities with the first one in Zurich being held in 1864.
