Writzer "Fritz" Datema

Writzer “Fritz” Datema of Brampton and formerly of Auburn passed away at Holland Christian Homes, Brampton on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018. He was in his 91st year. 

Fritz was the beloved husband of the late Grace (de Vries) Datema (2017) and loving father of Marg and Carl Mount, Queensville; Mathilda Tisseur, Cambridge; Ralph and Pat Datema, Clinton; Anita Wilson, Sardis, British Columbia and Frank and Boni Datema, Aldergrove, British Columbia. He will be cherished by 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 

Fritz was the dear brother of Mervyn Datema, Blyth; Fredrika Datema, Martha Valkema, Ankie and Jan Buikema, all of The Netherlands and brother-in-law of Ina de Vries, Chatham; Truus and Hilko Rozema, Cees and Ity de Vries, all of The Netherlands and Dorothy de Vries of Prince Edward Island. 

Fritz was predeceased by his brother Henk and Francine Datema, sister-in-law Gaye Datema and brothers-in-law Albert Valkema, Jan de Vries and Ekke de Vries. 

A memorial service will be held in the Heritage Hall at Holland Christian Homes, Brampton on Friday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. following the interment at Ball’s Cemetery, Auburn.  

Memorial donations to World Renew or the Lighthouse, Toronto would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
