Bayfield Brewery based right on the farm
Breweries have been springing up all over the place in Huron County in the past few years but one of the newest, River Road Brewing & Hops, has a niche all its own. It’s Huron County and Bayfield’s first farm-based brewery.
The ingredients that go into making the brewery’s beer are grown right on the farm giving them a fresh taste like no other brewery in the area.
At River Road Brewing & Hops located just outside of Bayfield, you will be welcome to wander the hop yards and farm fields to view the craft from start to finish.
The brewery supports sustainable brewing, from wood-fired boilers to feeding spent grain from the brewing process to the farm’s herd of highland cattle.
The brewery’s regular beers have such colourful names as Up Your Kilt (a wee heavy); Blind Desent (an oatmeal stout); County Blonde (a blonde ale brewed with farm grown Huron County ingredients); a
County Breakfast, an oatmeal coffee stout brewed with locally roasted coffee from Coastal Coffee Company.
