Renting the Tux
A guide to making the best dressed list
Experts suggest that when choosing a tuxedo it's important to try to match them to the bridesmaids' dresses. Tuxedo companies often have their hands full matching their colours to the hot dresses of the season for the bridesmaids out there.
This year's hot colours for vest and tie combinations are blue and purple.
Tuxedos are trending towards comfortable and casual looks as opposed to the tuxedos of yesteryear.
Gone are cummerbunds, bow ties and double-breasted suits and in are single-breasted suits, Windsor ties and square-toed shoes. Most of the trends are on comfort, often not compromising any formality and style in the process.
Other trends seen are triple puffing in the blazer pocket, worked together, one matching the jacket, one matching the tie and another matching the vest.
Once the choice has been made and the wedding party is fitted, which is something that should be done at least two months in advance, to give the company enough time to find all of the perfect matches, the ball is now in the shop’s court.
And the choice doesn’t necessarily have to be an expensive one, with full tuxedo rentals ranging from $90 up to $150
